Jaipur: They were once the loyals, who swore by their party, worked for their party and held prominent positions in their parties; but denial of ticket has turned them into rebels who are today positioned against their own party and fighting elections as Independents. Rajasthan has a dozen rebels putting up a tough fight against their own alma mater.
The rebels are not limited to any single party; both Congress and BJP have several - and they pose tough competition to the party they had once belonged to. But at the same time both parties are eyeing them with expectation and strategising to be on the good side of these rebels in case they win and their support is needed.
