With the Lok Sabha polls expected to be held in April-May, DNA will take a look at important constituencies of Rajasthan to ascertain what has been achieved in five years and what is left to be fulfilled. Sangeeta Pranvendra does a reality check of Kota LS seat
Constituency Audit Kota

Kota the education hub of Rajasthan is situated in the south-eastern part of the state at a distance of about 240 km south of Jaipur.
This constituency is formed of eight assembly segments namely, Kota South, Kota North, Ramganjmandi, Peepalda, Sangod, Ladpura, Keshoraipatan and Bundi.
The present incumbent Om Birla a three time MLA, defeated sitting MP Ijeyaraj Singh of Congress to win this seat. His was the only seat BJP managed to retain in the by elections after it fielded 4 MLAs elected in 2013 as MPs in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
The Congress and the BJP have each won 7 times in the Kota-Bundi seat out of the 16 polls held so far. The Congress could win only twice in the last two decades.
