Cong looks for a new face in Kota as ex-MP shifts to BJP

Jaipur: Kota has traditionally been Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) stronghold and its cadre presence in the area has been vast and widespread.
This has been the major reason for BJP having a strong presence in the area. In fact, BJP stalwart Lal Krishna Advani too had worked for the party in Kota.
In 2013 Assembly elections BJP had won all 8 Assembly segments falling under Kota Parliament seat. But in the recently held 2018 Assembly polls its tally fell to five and Congress grabbed three seats.
While BJP won Bundi, Keshoraipatan, Kota South, Ramganjmandi and Ladpura, Congress won Sangod, Pipalda and Kota North.
