10 shopkeepers receive notice for littering the surroundings

Belapur: The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has cracked the whip against shopkeepers and businessmen responsible for making the surroundings unclean. Under this action, it has issued notices to 10 shopkeepers.
Cases have been filed against them and businessmen at NRI police station. The solid waste management department of NMMC's drive is an outcome of multiple factors.
Firstly, it started this drive under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan to inculcate the habit of cleanliness among every section of the society. Secondly, this drive is also the outcome of Navi Mumbai being ranked as the third cleanest city in the country and first in Maharashtra in the recently held survey.
