Deepika is safe, escapes fire as she was not home

Deepika Padukone, who has a residence in one of the floors of the Beaumonde Tower, where a major fire broke out on Wednesday, was not inside the 34-storey building in Appasaheb Marathe Marg in Worli’s Prabhadevi locality. Padukone took to Twitter to confirm that she is safe and thanked everyone for their concern.
“I am safe. Thank You everyone. Let us pray for our firefighters who are at site risking their lives,” she Tweeted.
Her tweet came as a relief to all the fans who were paranoid after the news broke out.
According to Surendra Malwankar, who lives on the fifth floor of the building, no one was living on the top floor. “They live abroad most of the time,” he said.
