Will the real Imran Khan

The recent hit Kolaveri di that took the music industry by storm, has given way to another piece of news on the grapevine in Bollywood. The former is the brainchild of stars from Tamil film industry whereas the latter is about our B'town's very own Imran Khan.
It was a case of mistaken identity in the case of Khan. Two IIMA alumni CS Krishna and Karthik Laxman, have a launched a portal -The Unreal Times- a website that publishes fictional news and articles with an aim to provide humour to its readers.
So, as the grapevine has learnt, a CNN broadcast journalist mistakenly interviewed Bollywood actor Imran Khan instead of the Pakistani cricket legend Imran Khan. Now this has become a monstrous hit, with some 40,000 Pakistanis reading it and rebuking the journo for not being well-informed.
However, when Khan (B'town actor) was asked about the episode, he says, "It is an online spoof and just in case it is true, then I will say I would not have had any problem with it as Imran is a good-looking guy."
After Hrs recently interviewed Khan for his upcoming film Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu which has a resemblance to Hollywood movie What Happens in Vegas. However, Khan says the movie is inspired from the Hollywood hit. "My film has certain elements from that film but then there is also a part of the movie that looks like as it has been inspired from the famous American sitcom Friends. But what is different here is that the movie revolves around this guy (film's protagonist) who has genuinely lost interest in life and this girl played by Bollywood hottie Kareena Kapoor changes this very perception. It is a coming of age film that I am sure people will love."
Ask him about his female co-star Kareena Kapoor and he is all praise for her. "She is among the finest actors of our film industry today and a complete delight to work with."
A song from the movie, Gubbare, is really catching up with the audience. Khan says, "The song is such a beautiful melody and it actually comes at a time when love just starts to blossom between the two characters in the film."
Khan was recently spotted with a fully grown beard which made him look different from his usual clean shaven self. "This look is actually for my next film Matru ki Bijlee ka Mandola directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. My wife is not a big fan of this and sometimes it happens that when I look at the mirror I am not able to recognise myself."
So is it going to be a game changer for his image as an actor, as Bhardwaj is known for serious cinema? "I don't really know because I never plan things for myself. And, I never really wanted to be an actor. I studied direction and looking at my career till now, I think I have done pretty well for myself," concludes the actor.
