Maharrsh Shah (Twitter:@maharshs) shares interesting trivia on cinema

1. Although nominated six times, superstar Dharmendra has never won a Filmfare award for Best Actor. He has won two Filmfare awards, for Best Movie for Ghayal (1990) which he produced and a lifetime achievement award in 1997 for his contribution to Indian cinema.

2. Sunny Deol has acted in Raj Khosla's Sunny (1984) which is also his onscreen name and the name he popularly goes by. He then went onto play the title character in Ajay (1996). His real name is Ajay Singh Deol.

3. Aamir Khan won the Best Actor award at Filmfare for Raja Hindustani (1997). He won this after being nominated in the category for eight consecutive years.

4. Salman Khan's double role act in Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (2015) is only the second time in his career has essayed a double roll. The first was in David Dhawan's Judwaa (1997).

5. Despite suffering from bad health Sadashiv Amrapurkar shot for Mani Rathnam's Raavan (2010). Unfortunately, his part was entirely chopped out from the theatrical cut of the film.

6. Ketan Mehta's Mirch Masala (1987) is the only movie that features the real life mother-daughter trio of Dina, Supriya and Ratna Pathak. The movie also featured Naseeruddin Shah who is Ratna Pathak's husband in real life.

7. Sunny Deol and Aamir Khan have clashed at the box office three times, and each time they have clashed both their films have been blockbuster hits. Dil and Ghayal released on 8th June, 1990. Raja Hindustani and Ghatak released within a week of each other in 1997, and Lagaan and Gadar released on June 15, 2001.

8. The first time Anil Kapoor mouthed the popular catchphrase 'Jhakaas', it was for his character in the movie Yudh (1985), which also co-starred Jackie Shroff and was director Rajeev Rai's debut film.

9. Aamir Khan's character in Andaz Apna Apna (1994) jokingly mentions to Salman Khan's character "Sholay iske baap ne likhi hai". Salman Khan's real life father Salim Khan co-wrote Sholay (1975) with Javed Akhtar.

10. Sanjeev Kumar played Shashi Kapoor's father in the iconic Trishul (1978). In reality he is several months younger than Shashi Kapoor.
