Love nature? Show it...

This V-day, be a part of the eco-selfie contest and upload your selfies or pics clicked in the lap of nature

If you love Mother Nature and also care for your beloved, here is a chance to bring the passion for both together by clicking that one-off stand-out selfie, groupfie or photo and capture a memorable moment this Valentine’s Day.
The Responsible You (TRY) is an initiative launched with the belief that your happiness starts from living in a healthy environment and a peaceful community. But helplessly, we are living in an environment where population, pollution and commotion are growing by the day.
Though not all can be changed, but Anju Dave Vaish, TRY’s principal believes that one’s choices and actions can show if they are being responsible enough to minimise the impact of urbanisation on nature.
“With the eco-selfie contest being rolled out this Valentine’s Day, TRY intends to connect with the youth, who are at the transformational point of making lifestyle choices,” said Vaish. “With a better economy and rising consumerism, the youth is heavily enticed into range of options without being informed about the impact they leave on the eco-system based on their consumption and disposal. TRY is trying to build that all-important awareness about sustainable lifestyle through various means of online and off-line campaigns. Those in love, can upload their selfies or photos at,” added Vaish, a communications strategist and creative director at  TRY, while speaking to AFTERhrs.
Vaish, who also holds a PhD in Biotechnology, shares her two-pronged philosophy: one, that the scientific and artistic communities — that usually stand segregated — should work together to build mass level awareness on sustainability; two, that happiness is an integrative element of sustainability. If people are not happy, they will care less for their environment and community and vice versa.
What’s more? The contest will not just be another online contest. Rather, India’s top photo professionals would be judging these clicks on various parameters. The jury includes Mahesh Nair, wildlife photographer; Vibhuti Pandya, visual artist; GP Singh, environmentalist; Vinay Dave, landscape photographer and Roya Delkhosh, visual artist.
For those who will come up trumps, there is lots in store!
