Forensic psychologist SL Vaya to get award
City-based noted forensic psychologist SL Vaya will be conferred upon union Home Ministers Life Time Achievement award on Saturday.
Last month, the central government had announced the award for her outstanding contribution in the field of forensic science.
The award will be conferred on the occasion of 24th All India Forensic Science Conference to be held from February 10 to 12 at Gujarat University convention Cente. The 63-year-old, Dr S L Vaya, founded the forensic psychology division at the Directorate of Forensic Science (DFS).
Vaya has been instrumental in high-profile cases such Madhumita Shukla murder case, Gutka case, Nithari serial killings, Aarushi-Hemraj murder case of Noida, Ujjain serial killings, Ranchi serial murders, Telgi fake stamp case and the lion poaching case in Gir.
