‘Itchy Tales, Ahmedabad’ is here to help first-timers take off on their dream ventures

We all have had a list of things we aspire to do but we never could. Something like, a bucket list. A secret wish that you want to fulfill, if given a chance. Well, Smriti Modi from Singapore with her initiative called ‘The Itch List’ is giving you that chance.
“All of us have a list rattling around in our heads of crazy things we want to do but those ‘things’ remain unfulfilled. Nagging my friends to do that stuff became my mission. I realised making lists like ‘30 things to do before 30’ actually works! It is extremely effective, gratifying and when done with friends, it’s a whole lot of fun. From exchanging ideas on what to put on the list to finding ways of doing seemingly impossible things, friends just make that fun thing even more enjoyable.” said Smriti.
The Itch List is an online website where one can list all the things they want to do and add a ‘scratch by’ date to each. The attempt is to build a strong community, and address the reasons that hold people back from pursuing their dreams. The aim is also to push people to step out of their comfort zone to fight odds and live their dreams.
Shalvi Agravwal, organiser of Itchy Tales, Ahmedabad, said, “I organised this event to let people know about the brilliant opportunity. There are people who are fond of travelling, want to learn photography and do other crazy stuff. The Itch List is the best platform for them. The event will have games, refreshments and speakers to share their inspirational itchy tales.”
The Itch List recently organised an event in Mumbai with Meher Moos, the first Indian woman to have gone to the Antarctica. She has scratched 180 countries off her itch list and at the age of 71, she is itching to see more!
Enthusiast Hiren Raghav said, “I had been planning to take a bike ride to Ladakh since the past year-and-a-half. Finally, in June I got an opportunity and covered 5,500 km to Ladakh on bike with four comrades.”
