Vadodara’s new airport makes place in Limca Record

Vadodara: The new Vadodara International Airport that is to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on October 22, has made a place in the Limca Book of Records. Its ceiling is 164.2 metres long and is the longest ‘Single Length Steel Roof Sheet’.
Deep Gupta, director of the company said, “We are the first in India to build and setup a joint-less roof for an airport terminal. The length of the roof is 164.2 metres, and its width is 435 metres. The roof is 0.55 metre broad. It is coated with metal is named as joint-less multi-zip steel roof.”
This newly constructed Vadodara airport is Gujarat’s second largest airport after the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad. Vadodara’s airport covers an area of 17,500 square metres land plot. Of this, 4,519 square metres area has been utilised for the terminal and passenger area.
Infra company has been awarded a certificate for this record. The construction of the roof started on January 28 this year by some foreign companies. No other airport has got this joint-less steel made ceiling.
