‘Beyond Blue’ director Zanane Rajsingh’s next flick will be set against underground parties

Zanane Rajsingh whose first film Beyond Blue was screened at the 68th Cannes film festival, 2015 is back with yet another film! His next titled Colourbaaj is based on real-life incidents and is set against the backdrop of underground parties. The talented director talked about his film in a free-wheeling chat with dna afterhrs.
A party film!
It is basically a commerical enterntainment film, the script for which has been written by theatre personality Abhinay Banker. The story of this film revolves around three teenagers who dream of making it big at any cost. It is mainly based on true incidents that happened with me. I called this a ‘party film’ because it is set against that backdrop. Also there are so many people who throw underground parties but behave as if they don’t. That’s total hypocrisy.
Shooting on grand scale
We outsourced the production team from Maharashtra, Hyderabad, Kerala, Rajasthan, among other places. We have wrapped up the first shooting schedule of the film. Around 400 to 500 people worked with us for the first schedule and we plan to start canning our second schedule by the end of July. Keeping in the audiences in mind we also plan to send the film down South for colour correction, so that the audience gets a very Bollywood vibe.
The ‘three friends’ trend
I haven’t seen many Gujarati films but only Kevi Rite Jaish. I don’t have any idea what is happening around in the industry, but I have heard that this trend of films being made with three guys is currently going around. But the thing is, when you are making a commercial movie all you think about is a story and not anything else.
