The ‘former’ actor will be seen in Mikhil Musale’s upcoming film ‘Wrong Side Raju’

He started his acting career back in 1984 as a child artiste, and later worked in movies such as ‘Amy Thanawala’, ‘Suno Na...Ek Nanhi Aawaz’, Makrand Shukla is currently serving as the consultant regional officer at the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). In an amalgamation of two very different fields, Parikh has successfully managed to juggle both films and official work. The actor talked to dna afterhrs about acting again, after a gap of over nine years, with Mikhil Musale’s upcoming suspense thriller ‘Wrong Side Raju’.
Being the son of theatre artiste and film actor Annapurna Shukla, Makrand has also shared screen space with actor Shabana Azmi as a child artiste in the film ‘Bhavna’. Talking about landing a role in Musale’s film, Parikh said, “Mikhil and Abhishek were my juniors in GLS College, so we have always been good friends. Mikhil approached me for the role of a crucial character in the film and after initial resistance I agreed to it.”
Passion for acting
Elaborating about his role in the film, he said, “My character Abhijat Shah is a lawyer and the younger brother of one of the lead characters in the film.” He added, “Since this was a role I couldn’t pass over, I accepted it, but as of now I don’t plan to do another movie even if I want to, since I’ll probably be shifting base to Delhi because of my promotion in the ICCR.”
Canning the shots
The film which is based on a hit-and-run case is a suspense thriller.  Parikh talked about shooting for the film, “We shot for around 5 days on college campuses like HL College of Commerce, GNLU among others.” Signing off, he said, “I am optimistic about the film’s success because Mikhil is a very hands-on director and also the film has been produced by Vikas Bahl’s Phantom Productions.”
