Where to eat Poutine in Toronto? Poutini's House!

Poutini is one of the best typical Canadian foods, but you have to eat it in the right place. In Toronto, I tried several restaurants and only one exceeded my expectations: Poutini's, House of Poutini.

For those who don't know, Poutine is a fried potato dish covered with gravy (meat and pepper) and pieces of melted cheese. But, at House of Poutine in Toronto, you can choose flavours with different ones like bacon, smoked meat, smoked meat and even the vegetarian poutini.

I chose the BBQ Pork Poutini, which came topped with a tender shredded pork. The main flavours on the menu, with their respective prices:

  • Traditional Poutine: 9.15 and 6.60 CAD

  • Layered Poutine: 11.65 and 9.15 CAD

  • The Bacon Poutine: 12.20 and 9.15 CAD

  • The Works Poutine: 12.70 and 9.75 CAD

  • BBW Pork Poutine: 12.70 and 9.75 CAD

  • Smoked Meat Poutine: 12.70 and 9.75 CAD

  • Vegan Poutine: 9.66 and 7.10 CAD

  • Roasted Onion & Roasted Mushroom Poutine: 12.35 and 11.90 CAD

This average price of 12.70 Canadian dollars, worth R$ 35 at today's exchange rate, can be considered cheap in Toronto. Even more so because it is not simply a snack. This large portion of poutine feeds two adults well at a meal.

In addition to the different flavours and the high quality of this poutine in Toronto, it is worth mentioning the excellent service I had in the shop, even with the rush of employees. From the high volume of takeaway boxes leaving, I could tell that the restaurant is really appreciated.

From the opening hours, you can see that the place is a classic after-work hangout in Toronto. Greasy food to feed the wanderer's soul. So much so that I found out about it by watching The Layover, which I consider one of the top 3 travel programmes on TV. The one I visited is on Queen Street, so it goes well with a Little Portugal itinerary.
