Guj looks at 100% immunisation coverage

The Gujarat government plans to cover over 60,000 children who may not have received any immunisation so far under the Intensified Mission Indradhanush (IMI) programme of the Center. The IMI programme is aimed at accelerating the coverage of immunisation to reach children and pregnant women who have hitherto not been immunised.
The Centre had identified three districts in the state - Banaskantha, Kutch and Bhavnagar as part of the programme. "But the Gujarat government decided to cover all districts in the state. Children and pregnant women who are not covered under routine immunisation are often migrant workers, those living in extreme remote areas and those that belong to nomadic tribes," said health commissioner Ja
