Taking strong exception to a SMS campaign allegedly started by Samata Andolan Samiti, chief minister Ashok Gehlot has denied that any decision has been taken regarding reservation in promotion.
In a strong rebuttal, the CM has described the SMS campaign as a vile attempt by some people to create confusion and disharmony among the government employees.
“Some people have been spreading this kind of rumours for their own political good. They have been trying to create misunderstanding and division among government employees,” an official spokesperson said quoting the CM.
“The SMS campaign is also part of their mischievous intentions and the state government see it in the same light,” the official spokesperson said. The SMS was allegedly sent from people associated with Samata Andolan Samiti, an organisation that opposes reservation and also involved in a legal battle against reservation in promotion in government jobs.
It started doing rounds in the afternoon in secretariat. In the SMS people associated with the samiti congratulated each other claiming CM has cleared the file for doing away with reservation in promotion. The SMS was, “Badhai (Congratulations), file cleared by CM as proposed for execution of HC order. Samta Andolan Samiti.”
