Om Mathur may again be made Gujarat BJP in-charge

Gandhinagar: National BJP president BJP Amit Shah will be in Gujarat next week. He is likely to hold meetings with top brass party leaders in state for taking stock of poll preparations.
Buzz is that he may also appoint the new party in-charge in Gujarat. The post fell vacant after Dinesh Sharma, who held the charge till now, was made deputy chief minister in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday. It is likely that PM Narendra Modi and Shah's close aide Om Mathur may be given the charge again.
Mathur was Gujarat in-charge of BJP from 2002 to 2008. He had won the trust of Narendra Modi when the latter was the chief minister in Gujarat. He is a Rajya Sabha MP and BJP national vice-president.
