Congress to elect CLP leader today

A meeting of newly elected Congress MLAs is slated to take place on Wednesday to elect the party's leader in the state Assembly.
The meeting will take place at Gujarat Congress office in the presence of Ashok Gehlot, in-charge of Congress's affairs in the state, and former Union minister Jitendra Singh. They were appointed as observers to elect the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader by All India Congress Committee last week. "The observers will take feedback from newly elected MLAs about the CLP leader. A formal announcement regarding the leader will be made at the end of the meeting," state Congress spokesperson Manish Doshi, said.
