NCB to probe city connect to 1,700 kg poppy husk seizure

Consignment seized in Jodhpur was allegedly sent from Abad

Ahmedabad: On Thursday, over 1700 kg poppy husk was seized by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) from a truck with a Gujarat registration number. The contraband was hidden behind air-conditioners loaded in the container which was on its way to Dangiawas area in Jodhpur. The driver was arrested and investigation revealed that the consignment had been loaded at or routed via Ahmedabad.
Hari Om Gandhi, Ahmedabad Zonal Director of NCB, is going to start an investigation regarding the matter. Gandhi said "Poppy husk has never been cultivated in Gujarat.
