Naigaon resident Jalindar Sarvode, who lives in Mumbai’s BDD Chawl, can barely walk 15 steps without a walking stick. In 2009, Sarvode, who worked as a security guard slipped and fell, requiring a hip implant. A device was implanted during the operation, which happened soon after the accident.
