Act fast on Amrapali or face jail, babus told

The Supreme Court said on Tuesday it will tolerate no delay in handing over possession to homebuyers of Amrapali housing projects and threatened to send officials of Noida and Greater Noida to jail if they fail to abide by this order.
Taking up the case for compliance after its judgment of July 23, the bench of Justices Arun Mishra and UU Lalit wished to know from the state what it had done to ensure timely delivery of flats. The UP government informed the Court that a special cell had been created to process the cases pertaining to 42000 homebuyers whose house got stuck even though they made timely payments towards construction.
