Faithfuls miffed with Church stand

NUN ABUSE

New Delhi: A day after a Kerala nun wrote to the Vatican seeking justice and action against Bishop of Jalandhar Franco Mulakkal for raping her, the Kerala police summoned Bishop Mulakkal. The police asked him to appear before the investigation team in Kerala on September 19.
Although the Vatican is yet to respond to the nun’s plea, members of the Christian community are upset with the response of the Church.
“There are very clear Catholic Bishop’s Conference of India guidelines against harassment at workplace. These are like the Vishakha guidelines. When nun’s work, bishops are like their bosses. We are very upset that there has been no action against Bishop Mulakkal as yet,” said Maria D’Cunha, former secretary of Women’s C
