Health experts skeptical about 'Bal' docs in schools

The health department's pilot project of appointing bal doctors where primary school children will be 'appointed as doctors' for their classmates has raised concerns among public health experts.
According to them, the idea may not be bad but a bal doctor being allowed to disburse ayurvedic medicines even under the supervision of a teacher is a dangerous proposition.
Almost all the experts that DNA talked to wished to remain anonymous as they work with the government or on government projects on public health.
