After a stint down there, actor Monal Gajjar is set to star in Nirav Barot’s ‘Thai Jashe’

There is no denying that, the overwhelming success of recently released Gujarati films, has garnered many accolades apart from the record box office collections. This successful run is calling the local talent home. Instead of moving to Mumbai or working in the Southern film industry, our starlets are now returning to Gujarati films.
Joining the bandwagon is 24-year-old Monal Gajjar who made her debut in 2012 Telugu film Sudigadu. She has also made her mark in Malayalam and Tamil films. Monal also made a special appearance in Hindi film ‘Mai’ in 2013.
The Amdavadi actress has now returned to her roots and will star opposite Bey Yaar fame Pratik Gandhi in Nirav Barot’s Thai Jashe. The film’s shooting is slated to begin in February this year. Thai Jashe’ will also star Manoj Joshi.
Talking about her journey, Monal said, “I always wanted to be known as an actor as my focus was never limited to walking on ramp.”
After winning a couple of modelling contests here in Ahmedabad, she headed south. When asked what prompted her to return she said, “While shooting for a film, they asked me- who is the superstar of the Gujarati film industry? This question left me dumbfounded. That’s when I realised that I have to return to my roots.”
Before signing off she said, “South Indian film industry has taught me punctuality. Every shoot there starts on time.
Besides, everyone is very supportive”.
